Hey Everybody,

I am posting this up because I want to hear what everyone has to say about it...

I was looking around for drupal & vbulletin integration and I took a visit over to the VB site: http://www.vbulletin.com

I noticed that they have a new product called Publishing Suite coming out soon.

It looks like a cool application, except for that it seems pretty limited in what it is including.

Publishing Suite is not out yet, but I am sure it will be sometime in the future.

I dont think it will be a major problem for the big drupal users.

Jelsoft will be limited in how they develop new features and I dont think they will be as quick as the thousands of drupal developers.

Drupal 7 comes out soon enough and I am waiting for that more than anything.

I wanted to hear what everyone thought of Vbulletin Publishing Suite. It looks nice, but my gut tells me it will have a long way to go.

Best of all Drupal is FREE. Its not easy to use and has as steep learning curve, but once you get the hang of it... You love it.

I have VB forums on a couple sites, and I love the features it has, but hate the administration of the forum.

What do others think about the upcoming products from Jelsoft. I am interested to hear about it.

I been using drupal and I am in love with it. I have been also using vb for couple of forum site. It is good product on the face value. But as you did deeper on the source code it is not clean. Themes are in database and so many tables, it just difficult to grasp where as drupal appears rock solid. Making a CMS is not difficult, specially if you see the basic requirement
Article, Blog, Gallery I guess that is what is required.
Wordpress is doing a better in cleaner job in that regards on all those three counts vis a via vb. Now a days its more important to theme a look as most of the features are taken care by any CMS.

Power of drupal lies in flexibility and ability to scale. Infact, the API are so good that you can use drupal as a frame work for customs application development. I have used it many of my projects which takes care of so much of hassles. In fact for me drupal has become PHP.

In vb i have found, there are a couple of use ful mod like thank you and best answer which give a total new look to the forum. These can be easily ported to drupal. I would be interested to be part of team which will work on forum solution for drupal. I can provide insights as to how vb function. We can replicate vb and give run for the money. Plus in drupal you do not need bloated vbSEO. Offcourse we require marketing to actually sell pathauto.
