You are browsing documentation for an older version of Drupal, which is not supported any longer, and the information may not be correct. See current documentation for Contributed modules
You can migrate/convert your Drupal and non-Drupal forums and users to Advanced Forum.
For your Drupal forums and users, Advanced Forum will automatically apply when installing it, since this module uses and enhances the core Forum module.
For your non-Drupal forums and users, see the handbook page How to migrate from many different forum systems, with the easiest forum migration procedures. See also the Migrating to Drupal handbook section, which includes additional methods, and sub-sections on migrating from specific forums and CMS.
