Description

Hi, in my site redesign, the taxonomy term pages are the landing pages for SEO purposes (and include all of the relevant node content), while the nodes are of lower significance. Of course, many sites do the opposite. It would be great to have a preferences option where I could set taxonomy pages to 0.8 (or whatever) and node pages to 0.3. Thanks!

You can set priorities for taxonomies and node types as well as individual nodes and taxonomy terms. On your admin/settings/xmlsitemap page you should be able to see an overview of each of your taxonomies and node types with links to edit their inclusion in the XML sitemap or their priorities. You need to edit each individual node or taxonomy term to change individual item inclusion or priorities.

I have about 3000 taxonomy terms and 2000 nodes. Setting each one individually does not sound very practical. I could use Views Bulk Operations and Batch API to set them all, but that wouldn't help with new nodes and terms that I add. Is there any chance of adding this as a global setting, so I could set it just once?

You've missed what I've been trying to say. As long as you haven't set individual priorities away from the 'default' setting on your individual nodes and taxonomy terms, you can adjust the settings for your content types and taxonomies themselves, and those settings propagate to the individual links. You set it once for a content type and don't have to do it again. There are links to each content type and taxonomy's settings page on the admin/settings/xmlsitemap page.

Sorry, I got confused by your suggestion that there are links from the xmlsitemap settings page to the different content type and taxonomy settings pages. I have no such links, as you can see in the attached screen shot.

However, I figured out from your comment that I could set the xmlsitemap settings from those pages, which enabled me to accomplish exactly what I had hoped for, giving taxonomy pages a higher weighting than node pages.

You have built a fantastic module. Thanks very much.

You reported the version you were using as 6.x-2.x-dev which does in fact have links to adjust all the 'types'. But you just changed it to 6.x-1.1 and based on the screenshot, that's what you're using. Make sure you set the correct version when reporting issues (it helps us determine how to help you best)!

Glad to know you got it working despite the miscommunication.
