It would be nice to be able to make different directories available for different roles.

This current version of Private Download allows me to grant rights to one folder only, but it would be nice to be able to have the ability to make sub-folders in the private folder, with different role access.

Why I'm interested in this module:
I am using flash/amfphp with supportive swfs within the private folder, and unlike with some of the other private file modules, this one dose not slow down load time.

This is a good idea and one I have anticipated from the community.

I will give the matter some thought and consider how this feature request might be best implemented.

Try adding the below to rewritebase/

RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,9}\ /([^/]+)/.*\ HTTP [NC]

Not sure if it foolproof..

Thanks! This module solved my immediate problem, which was to make test answer keys and the like available only to the instructors of the organization. But next on my punch-list is to have a way to make a different set of files available only to the Board of Directors, so for that it would be great to have multiple private sub-directories that are each accessible only by specific roles.

Managing multiple .htaccess files in nested sub-directories could get tedious if not implemented wisely. Any suggestions on how the user interface and flow for this feature are welcome.

The existing 6.x branch of Private Download has reached the end of its life cycle and no additional features will be added.
