These programs track individual user clicks, heatmaps, video replay of user clicks etc. We'd like the kind of data these programs offer but want to make sure they work on drupal site.

Yes, many Drupal sites use ClickTale, usually by incorporating the PHP integration module, which enables them to see exactly what the visitors see. You can get it here: http://forum.clicktale.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=580. Please note this is not a Drupal module. You need to insert the code mentioned there in index.php.

I'm really confused.

What code goes where?

What drupal php page do we place the "generated code" from the clicktale site?

What drupal php page does this code go on? ClickTaleFetchFrom="%FetchFromUrl%";

What drupal php page does this code go on?

require_once("[physical_path_to_clicktale_dir_here]\ClickTale\ClickTaleTop.php");

What drupal php page does this code go on?

require_once("[physical_path_to_clicktale_dir_here]\ClickTale\ClickTaleBottom.php");

Please help.

Thanks,

this client asked me to install it and just wondering the 'Yes' plenty of sites are using it if they would like to offer some details?
After following the php module version of it and making sure the includes are working there still are no results.
Any help would be appreciated.
For example when the instructions say 'before and after any content' is the that header as well or just $content?
Does drupal cache mess with it?
Etc.

Thanks

Ive just installed clicktale on my site.

its a pity the free version is so limited, I was hoping for a bit more of a trial

but there is still value in the free version. It shows the first 2 pages of browsers activity, then pops a splash over the rest, so you can only see the edges of the page. you can still follow what they do tho.

very interesting!
