I'm having a problem where i'm saving the fields to the regular taxonomy vocabulary, easy as pie, great feature, seems to work like a charm. Thanks for that!!

BUT, on the node creation form i'm having two fields show up, the taxonomy field and the cck field. This of course is confusing to people. So, I did some poking around and seems i'm not the only one who had that issue and that it's been fixed? All we need to do is go under the "advanced" section in the field edit form and check the don't show taxonomy field in forms box in the advanced section.

Here's my problem. I have no such box and no such advanced section?? Brand new install of Drupal 6.14. And I tried RC2 then thought maybe it was a new thing in the Dev version. Tried both, still no advanced area. All I get are "settings" "default value" "settings for autocomplete" and global settings. None of them has anything like "don't show taxonomy in form".

Did this get changed? The posts I see referring to this issue are all almost a year old. Help!!! Any advice. Yes, I know I can go into taxonomy and take this content type out, but i'm afraid that will affect any other taxonomy modules?? I'm no idiot but this issue really has me stumped. Something stupid i'm just not seeing??

I used the method outlined in your last paragraph and it works fine, there is no reason to use both setups on the same content_type.
I could be wrong but I dont see why there would be a conflict with disabling it, being that content_taxonomy is also entering your terms into the taxonomy table (if enabled) so its available to other mods that use it. Just do a backup first and if things go crazy its easy to reverse,

seems like it's working ok, still no advanced section. I'll leave this open for a bit and see if there are any other comments that might point me to the advanced section, wondering if theres anything else in there im missing!

Thanks Macro for jumping in.
