In the 6.x-2.0-beta8 version of the module, I was noticing an issue where users were unable to unsubscribe from the user edit form. The change was not getting saved. The following patch appeared to fix the issue for me.

Thanks, nice catch. Patch applied in dev and I'll release another beta, or perhaps an RC with this and a couple others.
