After navigating to a forum and selecting "create new forum post," the forum container is autoselected from the drop-down menu instead instead of the forum itself.

Little confused on what head is and how to fix it.

Is there some patch we can download for non linux savvy windows users ? Drupal seems to love complicated terms and acronymns

I'd already gone this root. I uploaded forum.module from the CVS tarball and uploaded to my site but the problem persists.

I don;t think the CVS has the fix and only the HEAD does ?

the fix is notin forum.module but IIRC in form.inc. Better replace all files.

replace every file from the RC4 tarball with the corresponding file from ftp://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/drupal/files/projects/drupal-cvs-4-7.tar.gz

exceptions are are settings.php and .htaccess
