I have uploaded drupal several times and each time i get this error ---start text---
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare r5i() (previously declared in /home/rere555/public_html/index.php(1) : eval()'d code:1) in /home/rere555/public_html/sites/default/settings.php(1) : eval()'d code on line 1 ---end text--- I thought it might of been from a buggy theme but this is a clean install please help?

damien tournoud commentedIt looks like you have a security issue on your server, and got hit by a code injection. Please check the security of the server.

OL-SKI commentedOk thanks I noticed some of the modules you download here for drupal contain viruses but this is a clean install can you explain for me how to check my servers security?
OL-SKI commentedthanks damian appreciate the help it was a breach of security

dman commentedMore information may be helpful for anyone else who has this - an install on a compromised server or compromised passwords.
Sharing the symptoms and the fix would be good for the next person.

OL-SKI commentedSure I agree : after being told it might be a breach of security from my host via cpanel I went and had my account information changed and sure enough i was able to install drupal properly and not have it go down. I am glad everyone on here is so helpful others suggested it was a breach. Now I can say this My site has been online for 1 year & i cant see how it could of been hacked but than again i dont suppose I would. I would spend a lot of time on ftp's and cpanel -- (now i do not) If anyone could elaborate on how people can gain your cpanel login info please respond?

vm commentedfor anyone else that reads this and is wondering about the idea that drupal modules can contain viruses. If your virus protection is marking a drupal core or module download as a virus it is far more probable a false positive being reported by a virus software as documented in multiple forum threads and blog posts. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=drupal+Trend+Micro&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g1
