hey all
i just installed ecommerce (a couple of times actually =:-p)
oh fyi - before i installed i already had set up a bunch of product nodes
now im going back to these product nodes and filling in all the ecommerce fields
but when i go to save
i get this above msg
now its fine in a sense
cuase i could just go and create that field by hand via phpmyadmin
but is this a correct error?
is this a sign that my third install try was bad?
did i miss an install step?
im worried that this means that im missing other fields as well
and similarly
when i do go and create that field by hand (yes im trying it)
when i hit the submit button to save
the product node doesnt actually save
(normally the admin gets sent the content list page)
rather i just get sent back to the edit product node page
pls help
thanks!

davea commenteddownload the latest dev version and install it. The upgrade process will make the schema changes you need to fix the error.
Please respond once you have completed this.
Thanks!

i did a full careful uninstall of ecommerce
and then an install to this
ecommerce-6.x-4.x-dev.tar.gz
(its showing up as rc13)
along the way i had to upgrade filefield
and now the whole things farked
trying to edit a product node thru content mgt
ie, http://ecomirrors.com/node/138/edit?destination=admin%2Fcontent%2Fnode
and i get sent to here
http://ecomirrors.com/admin/content/node
i think i might have to do a whole wipe and reinstall from scratch
if you have any thoughts before i start later tonight i would love to hear em
thanks!

davea commentedSorry. I don't have anything useful to offer. :(
I know that I have, as a dev on the project, reinstalled ec alot.
Thanks!

reinstalled EVERYTHING including v6 core
installed rc13
re-imported old data
but before i did that
i added a test product
i have a few questions
can you explain why it added the record in node table
and not in ec_product table?
how can i use all the ec tables and features?
it looks likes the ec tables are more suited for ecommerce
hit edit for the test product
and again it went right back to content list page
then i saw the option in edit content type "Node type is always a product:"
so i set that to 'optional'
and the edit product worked?
i guess i dont understand what 'optional' means
