jcmc commentedHi RGA,
Well, for me would be a great work but, before I give a answer, I h've to investigate how friendly is the Drupal module Highslide.
I must make the same with the modules Lightbox2, thickbox, shadowbox etc.
The first reason why I developed the module gallery_assist_lightboxes was, that no one knows this module and therefore it is not supported by existing lightboxes-solutions as Drupal Modules.
Highslide is a very interesant and profetionnal solution. I thank you for this request and take the highslide in my todo list
Regards
Juan Carlos

RGA commentedHighslide module http://drupal.org/project/highslide is not so powerfull as for example module lightbox2 and thickbox
Do not waste your time to integrate Gallery Assist Lightboxes with it
It woud be good to support Highslide like you do now with other lightboxes
Highslide need just link script itself in header and add in tag class="highslide" onclick="return hs.expand(this)".......
Thank you!
I think Gallery Assist is very good!

Marc Hoefman commentedJuan,
I tried highslide but no success.
Loaded the zip file from highslide.com into lightboxes/highslide and see a series of files to select from in the Extras of Gallery Assist (see attached image).
I do not know:
- which file(s) to select
- what the selector files are supposed to do
When I click on an image in the album, it keeps saying "loading"...
crosputni commentedI had the same problem - when I click on an image it just says loading. I thought it may be the paths specified in the highslide css and js files, so I set direct paths in all to my file areas. I spent probably two hours going through every possible configuration (on the Gallery Assist "Extras" page) and wasn't able to get any of them working.. It might be necessary to note that I am using the Zen base theme. Design is all that is modified (CSS, graphics...)
jcmc commentedHello,
I wrote you have to read or better learn a little how work each lightbox but it does not matter, I splain :-D
for the Highslide you need the files:
CSS - You can select both
- highslide.css
- highslide-ie6.css
JS
you must select it
- highslide.js (the principal file)
- highslide-with-gallery.js (used for the most posibilities with grouped images)
or
- highslide-full.min.js (for some exotic solutions)
SELECTOR (JQuery-Selectors in this case are the files with predefined configurations. You should choose one as a layout theme.)
- gallery_assist.highslide.selector.js
i am secure, this works

Juan Carlos

crosputni commentedFor me, this is still a no go. I enabled everything you have listed above and I'm still getting "loading" and that's it.
I used the settings you specified, then flushed cache and theme registry and created a new gallery. Still not working (sticks on loading). Next, I tried a fresh install with Garland theme using only Gallery Assist, the modules it relies on, and Highslide default package files. Same problem.
I used Firebug and got the following error on both:
file: gallery_assist.highslide.selector.js?o
line 46:
relativeTo: 'expander'error: hs.addSlideshow is not a function
I can usually modify this stuff to work but in the interest of resolving this for everyone, I didn't want to mess with your code. I'll look through and see if I can get it working, but since you know your code much better than I do, I thought I'd let you know where I'm seeing the error. You might also need to know that I am using clean URLs on my current site (although I tried it without clean URLs on the test site and that didn't work either). Let me know if you need any additional info from me.

Marc Hoefman commentedSame problem here, sticks on loading.
Running the test with a fresh Drupal install, Garland theme and the latest gallery_assist files from github and the standard package from Highslide.
Not being a programmer I'm not able to contribute to the solution.

RGA commentedHi Juan Carlos!
I have the same problem as others.
it saying "loading"... and do nothing.
Usualy Hislight act like this when paths to his /graphics directory is wrong
May be if you try it on fresh Drupal install it helps to find out error

jcmc commentedhi,
Following your instruction RGA, I have created a subdomain for you three to test.
Here the link: http://highslide.puntolatinoclub.de.
I have only install, create rolles and configuring permitions. create a par presets, create the once gallery
and the article you get on the home page.
you can test it the users RGA, Marc Hoefman, crosputni are created. Each have permitions to create owns galleries.
You all are in the group to administer Gallery Assist.
The Block "Who's online" is activated, so you can see who play currently with the configuration ;-) and the pass is -> testuser <- for you three.
I needed for the Installation, configuration and create gallery, users etc : 22 minutes 09 secunds.
I needed for the english text and this here : 1 hour 7 minutes. Very crazy or???
I know - This here and on the test pageI don't help you to solve the here posted problems but I don't know what can I doing more to help you.

Marc Hoefman commentedHi Juan,
Juan,
1. Your setup clearly works! But my site still does not....
with exactly the same the Gallery_assist and highslide file settings it still keeps on saying "loading" in my own drupal setup.... Is there any Drupal module needed which maybe I overlooked?
currently I'm running Drupal 6.14 with only
- the 3 gallery_assist modules
- ImageCache (all functions activated, except ImageAPI-ImageMagick
- Views module (Views exporter and Views UI not activated)
As highslide looks as one of the best lightboxes around, it is for sure important to get it working.
So maybe I'm using the wrong files from github or Highslide.com
I'll check it again.
Did the checking in the mean time:
We are using the same version of highslide from highslide.com
I've reloaded the gallery_assist and gallery_asssist_lightboxes
=> still no progress...
2. About Higslide itself in the site we could test:
Highslide is however showing ALL images (and thumbnails)
- not only the images in my gallery
- but also the images which you have in your gallery....
Marc

crosputni commentedHi Juan,
I am having the same problems as Marc.
First, yes your test site works fine. The only issue is I ran into with this is that on the main page (with the gallery teasers), if you click on one gallery image, it shows all gallery images on that page. I think this is what Marc is talking about in 2 above. You might need to add something in the code to help highslide decipher that each gallery created is a separate entity (mine, Marc's, yours). --I'm not sure if this would be resolved by assigning each user gallery a different content type..?
Unfortunately I am still unable to get highslide to work with my site. I double checked and I am using the most recent version of Gallery Assist, Gallery Assist IC and Gallery Assist Lightboxes based on the files in github. I am also using the basic configuration from Highslide (the most recent stable version is 4.1.8) Is there any way you could send us a copy of the Highslide files you are using in the test site? Maybe there is something different in what you are using and what we are using?
Is it possible that you have any additional modules that Gallery Assist is relying on that you forgot to take into account? I know for Gallery Assist IC obviously we need Image API and Image API GD2... Maybe there is a config file that you forgot to update on github? Can you try to update everything again, just to be safe? Just trying to figure out what could be causing the issue..
Oh, and I used Firebug on your test site and didn't get that error I mentioned above, but I still get that error when I try to use Highslide with Gallery Assist and Gallery Assist Lightboxes on my site. Is it possible that it's a path issue?
Thanks for your work on this - I love the module. Just wish I could get mine to work with Highslide. :)
Christie

crosputni commentedIn an effort to help fix this issue, I went onto your test site and copied all of the highslide files you were using and the js files for gallery assist. I copied the following files from your test site and uploaded them to their respective places on my site:
gallery_assist.css
gallery_assist.highslide.selector.js
highslide.min.js
highslide-full.min.js
highslide-ie6.css
highslide.css
Still just sticks on loading. :( Also tried creating a new gallery.. no luck.
jcmc commentedNOTE:
Thank you for your cooperation, thank you it works as it should!!!
Hello marc and crosputni,
I've just solved it, I've added the gallery pointer and it separates the galleries.
However, the new version of the lightbox only works with the "full" js.
I search for the causes and nothig. On the highslide gallery example page is used the full. Also we have to use the full.
The Gallery Assist Lightboxes ... dev-1.8 is just to download at github.

Juan Carlos

RGA commentedI have found it!
I disabled JavaScript in my browser and click on preview pic.
Page not found!
Then i look at the link
/sites/default/files/gallery_assist/1/gallery_assist11/prev/IMG9842.JPG
but the real location is
sites/default/files/gallery_assist/1/gallery_assist11/IMG9842.JPG
Directory sites/default/files/gallery_assist/1/gallery_assist11/prev/ exists but empty
Comment #16
jcmc commentedOh RGA,
I see you have a other issue.
if ImageCache is activate in your installation your drupal need only the original files.
If you not use ImageCache then we have to find why.
Regards
Juan Carlos
Comment #17
RGA commentedImageCache works proper with CCK
May be I shoud update gallery_assist_ImageCache module ?
crosputni commentedI have the same issue on my clean install which is NOT using clean URLs. My install that is using clean URLs has no problem with the paths. RGA, are you using clean URLs?
RGA commented>RGA, are you using clean URLs?
Yes
I try to use Lightbox2 with nwe version of module and have the same problem: Page not found
When I replace 1.8 version with stable from here it works with Lightbox2
Old version dos't use /prev/ directory at all
Comment #20
jcmc commentedHi crosputni, RGA,
monday I make a review and test all the paths and all posibilities, casualities and combinations.
"perhaps" some where I make waht wrong with the paths.

crosputni commentedhmm.. I am able to get mine to work with lytebox on both my clean install and the site I'm actively trying to use. I just don't like the way it displays, and I've paid for the highslide unlimited commercial license so I'd prefer to use that since I am more familiar with it.
With Lightbox2, I had to rename the file "lightbox" <-- lowercase, no "2". but that was prior to the new github version so i don't know if that'll still work. I don't really like lightbox2 as much as highslide so I'm not actively trying to get that one to work. You might try reading the README.txt file to find out what the folder names need to be. I think they're case sensitive.. example: "prettyphoto" won't work, needs to be "prettyPhoto"
Here's where it gets sticky for me.. I replaced my gallery assist lightbox module with the latest on github and it works on my clean install but not on my live site. On both, the thumbnails don't display unless I'm logged in to admin, checked permissions, it's not that.. When I'm logged in, only the clean install works completely. Now that I updated to the latest gallery assist lightbox module from github, i have no thumbnails on my primary site... I don't even know right now. My brain has become mush trying to figure this out. Taking a break on this for a bit so I can come back with a clean mind.
Marc Hoefman commentedHighslide works :))))
Highslide fails with http:// www.mydomain.com / mysubdomain (like was on my site)
Highslide is happy with http:// mysubdomain / mydomain.com (like on Juan's site)
So access the site in another way and Highslide works ! (with and without Clean URL's).
Strange though that Litebox and Lightbox work in both cases.
Juan, many thanks for the demo site, it helped us in solving the problem !
