What is the best way to get different views for each vocab ?

I tried to make 2 different displays for one view, and specify 2 different validations on argument(specify the vocab wanted) with the same path taxonomy/term/%. But it doesn't work only one display is used when accessing the path.
Can we do this only with Views or do I need other modules ?

I would use panels. It works nice, because the page manager has the logic build in.
