I've been using FCKeditor and had pretty fair luck with it.
I am working on a site where they want to have some not-so-computer savvy people work with images in postings.
The IMCE is out, because we want users to upload images and include in postings on-the-fly. We don't want them accessing folders on the server or having access to other posters images, etc.
The Insert and Image resize modules look perfect for the job. They work with the WYSIWYG API is my understanding.
Then I understand I need to use an WYSIWYG editor. I've not kept up with editors of late, so I could use some recommendations for putting this together.
I'm not a die-hard FCKeditor fan, or TinyMCE either. This is a not-for profit site, so I really need to just pass of the best workable situation for the above described users.
The biggest hurdle at this time, is install the best tools to start. I just don't have the time to chase all the WYSIWYG support issues.
I'm basically hoping there is now a best solution. I know Drupal devs have been working on including a WYSIWYG with core, which will sure make things better.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

Useful session on this topic from Drupalcon
Hi domineaux,
You might take a look at this session from DrupalCon Paris: http://www.archive.org/details/DrupalconParisHowtoeasilysetupanintiutive...
It covered topics that are very close to what it sounds like you are asking for.
Hope this helps!
I tried to view it but the
I tried to view it but the sound is so bad. I can't understand it.
Looks to me like they would use lapel mikes at those kind of events.
I read below and it mention the Drupal module WYSIWYG and the TinyMCE.
The Tiny MCE was always a pain in the wazoo for me. I went to FCKeditor and problems were minimized.
Nevertheless... I still have issues with it as well.

Think I'll just try this with TinyMCE, got to get this site up and running.

This is the solution I'm planning to use going forward: http://mustardseedmedia.com/podcast/episode29 -- very slick.
