options list to display releated features on product node

working in drupal 5.x on a site that shows product offerings for children's sports apparel.
this is a non e-commerce site - strictly product display.

The clothing has many "technical" features, special magnetic pockets (properly sewn so as to avoid magnets being swallowed etc), waterproof fleece fabrics etc.

It gets old having to drop in photos and links for each product.

what I would like to have is a custom content type - product - where I can enter the specific description and photo of the product then choose from a bullet list of available features.

when the node is shown the proper logos and feature descriptives is then shown with out having to repeat the work for all of the products.

I have been searching but have not yet found a way to do this - probably looking right over it.

any tips or ideas?
