prefill cck fields with arguments from links

Hi,
have been searching for a solution to this for quite some time, did not find it and therefore hope for some help here in the forums.
- I have a content type for persons (not users)
- With that I have a free tag vocab called "person names"
- person nodes require a person name tag
- I also have a content node with the same free tag filed for "person names"
here is what I would like to do:
- I would like to create a link from the person node to the create content form
- I want to pass along the person name tag from the person content type
- I would like to prefil the field in the create content form with the person name that is passed along from the person content type
How can I do that??
Any hints or tips are much appreciated!

looked very promising at first - then, however, since I use CCK taxonomy fields for names and not node reference, prepopulate does not work. It is a pity, because it works fine with any cck text field. Somehow the taxonomy fields do not work - could not find out where it went wrong...
any other ideas on how to get this done?
