slider not working in ie 8.0 isolated to

After checking for cross browser capatibility with slider, I ran across one particular user (windows XP and IE 8.0) that displays the content of the slider as 3 consecutive documents, the top menu is inactive and the left/right navigation is gone entirely. The slider content is falling behind the content below it. Any thoughts on how to rectify. I am unable to duplicate the error, but did see the issue first-hand.
