I am using APK and AF. APK requires author pane 2x and works well with it. However I cannot get the userpicture get to show in AF and I suspect it is because of incompatabilites between AP and AF (see attached pic). This is boxy style, when using "naked" the pic is simply not displayed without the white square.
Is there a workaround to get userpictures? Or am I simply doing something wrong?

michelleYou can't get AP 2.x to work with AF 1.x without hacking the module but APK will work with AP 1.x. You may need to delete and re-add the content type and you'll have to fill in the settings for the image path and template file. You actually don't need to do anything with the template file, yet, because I goofed and didn't update the template file to AP 2.x before I made the beta.

dddave commentedGood to know. Thanks for the quick clarification.
edit: It seems that simply deleting AP 2x, cache clearing and after that uploading and enabling of AP1 was sufficient. APK looks fine and AF also has no problems with it.

michelleIf you do that, it falls back to the template file and images in Author Pane. If you're not making any mods, that's fine. Just be aware of that "gotcha" if you decide to change the template. You'll need to make the change in the settings to point to the right one.

memcinto commentedI am wondering why on the project page for Advanced Forum,
http://drupal.org/project/advanced_forum,
under Dependencies, it says:
"D6 1.x requires Author Pane 2.x."
Shouldn't it say, D6 1.x requires Author Pane 1.x ?
michelleNo... Why should it say something that isn't true? AP 1.x is deprecated. No current version of AF in any branch requires it.
memcinto commentedThanks for replying. So AF 1.x (D6) works with Author Pane 2.x? I'm thinking of the discussion threads that say "AP 2.x with AF 1.1 is documented to not work" - or is it just AF 1.1 that doesn't work with AP 2.x and AF 1.2 does? Sorry just trying to clarify. Thanks.
michelleThat is correct. One of the main reasons for AF 1.2 was to update the Author Pane integration so Author Pane 1.x could be fully deprecated.
