CMS Web Architect and Production Coordinator - Vancouver BC CAN
The CMS Web Architect and Production Coordinator will primarily be responsible for planning, building and administrating many corporate client websites using leading open-source Content Management System and portal technologies.
This individual will carry out a variety of tasks while working as part of a creative team environment - from defining the architecture, designing and creating the portal and page layouts, managing and maintaining the hosted backend of the website. In addition, the individual will be responsible for defining, selecting and implementing specific portal extensions needed to support e-marketing, forms, social networking, security, SEO and/or media integration.
Flexibility, strong communication skills, organization and attention to detail are all critical success qualities. Previous creative agency experience is preferred.
CMS Web Architect Responsibilities
• Plan, select and implement core CMS platform on recommended cloud computing provider.
• As required and from time to time, augment the core CMS platform with necessary extensions to support advanced customer features, including e-marketing, forms, social networking, security, SEO and/or media extensions.
• Provide ongoing maintenance of the CMS platform, including regular and emergency maintenance, backups and CMS upgrades.
• Plan, design and implement new customer web sites on CMS core platform, including requirements analysis, presentation layer design and custom functionality extension.
• As required, incorporate specific CMS platform extensions into customer website implementations.
• Provide ongoing website maintenance and support.
Additional Duties
• Assist with the ongoing modifications, design, layout and production of marketing collateral and sales tools.
• Assist in Social Media marketing solutions.
• Research and bring forward new technologies.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by Creative Director.
Qualifications
• Experience in building, implementing and maintaining open source CMS platforms and websites on environments such as Dotnetnuke or Drupal.
• Experience in backend systems management and hosting management consoles such as Plesk.
• Experience in SQL database management, backup, restore (MS SQL, MySQL).
• Experience in 3rd party CMS extension integration or custom CMS extension development (e.g. in using Dotnetnuke, C# or Visual Basic development using Microsoft .NET technologies).
• Experience with integration and management of e-marketing solutions for email campaigns, SEO (Google, Yahoo, etc…).
• Experience with W3C XHTML compliant CSS validated presentation layers and XML.
• Familiarity with mainstream email clients and message formats.
• Ability to create and produce graphic materials using a range of media, methods, techniques, and industry standard software such as CS4 (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator).
• Typical Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PPT, etc.) are required.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail.
• 3-5 years of work experience is preferable.
• Self-starter with the ability to multi-task concurrent projects and deadlines.
Education And/Or Work Experience
• Associate degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience. Continued technology course work desirable.
• Five (5) years of experience working in a programming and web administration capacity.
• Three (3) years of direct experience with core CMS platform such as Dotnetnuke, Drupal or similar.
Additional Assets
• Experience working within a creative agency environment.
• Experience working within a Mac based network platform.
• Experience setting-up dedicated servers, virtual private servers or new cloud-computing server environments.
