Hello, I've been using Drupal for about two weeks and LOVE IT!!! Anyway, how do I upgrade Drupal using Fantastico? So far, Fantastico still tells me that the most recent version of Drupal in 4.6.5, but I know that is incorrect.

Is there a really easy way to upgrade Drupal with Fantastico?

Also, why doesn't Fantastico see the new version of Drupal.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

The guys on the Fantastico team normally test version upgrades before releasing updates like this. If you give them a few days, I'm sure they will get the new version available which will download with the next release of Fantastico.

I'd wait until they do this (I'm absolutely positive they will). If you try to upgrade yourself, you'll break the integration with Fantastico and will not be able to update within Fantastico in the future.

Cheers,

...It doesn't actually go out and look for new versions of software like Drupal. Instead, it looks at a local copy kept by your ISP, and installs from that version. Your ISP will have to upgrade ITS fantastico copy of Drupal before you can use that control panel to update it.

It may be possible to run the update yourself using 4.7's built in upgrade tool, but I'm not sure what specific settings Fantastico tries to modify on its own -- it may make the built-in Drupal upgrade problematic.

I have also installed Drupal 4.6.5 using Fantastico.
When upgrading to 4.7 simply follow the default upgrade process.

- Replace all 4.6.5 files and folders with 4.7 files and folders except for "sites/default/settings.php".
- Run www.yourdomain.com/somefolder/upgrade.php in your browser.
- Follow onscreen instructions.

It worked fine for me despite installing 4.6.5 using Fantastico.
