Would it be possible, maybe as a future release, to use statistics as a weighting factor in ranking the search results?

This way relevant pages that we know are popular will float toward the top to make them more easily accessible.

I really like this idea; the more users click on a link the higher it would come. Of course this might end up reflecting how good the teaser or extract is at selling the content rather than how relevant teh content is, but there is certainly a lot of good thinking to invest in that direction.
