I tried using the "Batch" button to import my files. It went to a page with the message:

"You are not authorized to access this page"

I was logged in as user 1.

Cannot replicate. This implies something was a little screwy with batch API internals, or the browser was refreshed. There are several possible reasons, including there being no job for batch API to do.
Not sure how to proceed.

I have this same problem with image_import.module,v 1.21 when trying to import a large number of images..
if I select say 5 at a time it works.. but if I select all I get "you are not authorized"

how can I help you debug it ?

Same issue, every attemt to run an import through the Batch API throws this "access denied" error at an URL like .../batch?op=start&id=427. Working on the import as user #1. Last message given (in green): "Globbed an aditional 907 files from 185 subdirectories".
