Is there a way to use large icons and to hide the service name?

I am looking for a way to use large icons and to hide the name of the service... We've found that when running sites using 3rd party widgets such as Sociable that allow for this functionality (large icons acting as the links) we get a significantly higher rate of usage than when we use the service links module. That said, we would much rather use the service links module --- the widgets are finicky, take a while to load and sometimes aren't very seamless. I would love to find a way to get service links to provide this kind of setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
