Use the module: http://drupal.org/project/google_analytics
It will take care of the code placement for you. You just need to put in your account number.
Search is your friend
I'd also like to highly recommend searching for such answers before posting. If you click on the Downloads tab at the top of the page, you can decide what you are looking for (in this case modules). Click on that, then you can use the search box in the right hand column to look for likely names. For example, if you searched for Google you would have found a large number of modules, including for analytics and adsense (2 of your more recent posts).
