"This module got into core and will be discontinued" - fine, that means we have final version from D7 backported. So what's next ?
Is Vertical Tabs abandoned ?

I don't have time for it, but if you want to maintain it i'm happy to add you as a comaintainer

It's being actively maintained by several people for Drupal 6. We're always happy to review patches once they're tested by other users. It's a very simplified backport of the Drupal 7 version since a lot of changes in FormAPI have made it impossible to do a straight backport.
