Action: modifying node field content - not configurable?

I want to provide the facility to users so that they can go to a VBO view and use it to bulk modify values in multiple nodes simultaneously. However, when I select that option it does not allow you to pare back which fields you want it to present... it just shows them all. Not only is this somewhat unattractive, it is overkill - if there is only 1 field you want to be able to present for modification, it can massively blow out the page making it unwieldy. Also there is no option to hide the php boxes, which blows out the page to the right enormously, making the page incompatible with many/most themes (lots of overlapping content and/or scrolling).

Would it be possible to provide some configuration for this action to provide options to indicate which fields you want displayed, and to be able to turn off the php block?
