Can't find how to get Page Title or Name to display in page.tpl.php

Description
We are wanting to change the value for each of the different views to make it so it displays the correct context for the page. Everything I have read suggests it works fine for views with 1 page but not multi-paged views like calendar. Is there an easy way to get the title or the name value out to use in the template?
