short answer: 'cause I want to use it on a production site, and..........
C_P, tho touted (here) to (paraphrase) "have ALL the features of Bio", does not. (and waiting going on 2 yrs)
have to use dev version to get it to work almost the way I need - not willing on prod. site and...

I'm willing to pay

I also want a new car - I wonder - do you need to know WHY?

The poster was trying to be helpful. If you didn't want to be told to use Content Profile, you should have put in your original post, "I don't want to use Content Profile because it is missing features X, Y, and Z that I need."

Of course, you could always pay to add the features to Content Profile so everyone can benefit but it is, of course, your money and your choice whether you want to give back to the community.

My orig post stands on it's own merits, a simple quid pro quo arrangement. Why are you wasting your time commenting here, let alone reading the bounty offer in the first place, if you have no intention of even considering entering into given arrangement?

No, "help" would have come in the form of "I can do that" for $xxx...

But since you posted unsolicited "advice", guess turnaround is fair play - never say "never", and there ain't no "everybody".

You're quite a piece of work, aren't you? I'm reading it because I'm a moderator on these forums and I try to help keep an eye on this forum in particular since Steph's pretty busy. I also have an interest in profiles and so this caught my attention because I thought I might be able to help.

Given your attitude, I wouldn't ever consider having you as a client. There's plenty of Drupal work to go around and someone would have to be pretty desperate to take on work with someone as nasty as you.

BIO IS DEPRECATED AND NO LONGER IN USE THAT'S WHY WE POINT YOU TO CONTENT PROFILE MODULE. NO AMOUNT OF WHINING IS GOING TO CHANGE THAT.

I just spent over 500 dollars on improvements to that module personally. I have been watching and using both those modules for over two years. Go an use content_profile. May god help the next person who mentions bio module in front of myself or Michelle.

Don't you & your ilk understand that you're wasting your time & energy yelling at someone to "buy a Ford" when they've clearly stated their desire for a Chevy? Continuing to do so only demostrates an intense need for belonging & conformity.

I don't care if it''s "deprecated" (which it isn't), or "no longer in use" (hardly the case). It's very much alive and well for D5 users. If it doesn't "officially" get ported to D6, I could care less. People use "custom" modules all the time. It doesn't matter to them if they're not "projects".

There are many ways to skin a cat. If I choose to do it differently than you, doesn't make my way wrong or your way right. I haven't ever said "don't use C_P" - 'cause it's a fine module, use it!

Well, it's new and he probably assumed that you were trying to avoid contacting someone so rude with your real account. ;)

As for this thread, why exactly are we rehashing it again? So you went against everyone's advice and ported a dead module that you will continue to have to port yourself in future versions. Bully for you. Go use it and be happy. No one cares.
