Needed: Freelance developer, troubleshooting pre-cutover, small job

squeezle - October 27, 2009 - 04:33

Hi all.

I'm cutting over an annual event website to Drupal from a static site (had some CMS prior to my time, was most recently maintained as flat files in vi!)

I have most of the site built on the test server. I've picked and tweaked a theme (LiteJazz from RoopleTheme.) I have most of the customization I want added, and several modules configured. I'm just having a couple of problems I cannot figure out, and need to get past them and get cut over.

As disclosure, the site content may offend some, so I want to be clear up front that the event in question is an alternative sexuality/BDSM/Leather weekend conference. If that content will make you uncomfortable, then you're probably not the right person to help me. The site does not contain anything that could possibly be constituted as porn in nay form, but some of our seminar topics fall outside the norm. I would be happy to refer you to the 2009 event site (still active) if you want to sanity-check yourself/me.

The basics: Take what I've have in place, and troubleshoot my two issues listed below. Summarize the fix for me.

D.6.13 (considering 6.14 before go-live, open to input)
LiteJazz (modified)

active modules:
CCK
FCKeditor
Image
ICME
MenuBlock

Others were installed/enabled, but have been disabled as part of troubleshooting.

Primary issue: Earlier in development, I seemed to have the ability to import images into body and blocks. I seem to have lost that. I also cannot publish a table created in FCKeditor to a page (looks fine in editor, looks like...screwed up text published) I think this is a content type issue, or had thought it was possibly a module conflict of some sort. Task is to correct this issue, allowing content to be posted in pages, blocks, menus to include text, images, .doc file, .pdf files, and chart/table formats created in editor (preferences is FCKeditor, with or w/o WYSIWYG module up to you, open to alternatives) (WYSIWYG + bridge modules installed/disabled.)

Secondary issue: Theme issue with Litejazz- require troubleshooting of disparity in how a menu displays in FireFox vs. IE. In this case, IE is actually behaving where 'Fox is not.

This is needed immediately. My original cutover date is the end of this week, and I would really prefer to neither slip that nor publish a crappy-looking site.

Please respond with a estimate if you feel that is sufficient info to make one, an hourly rate quote, and any references/examples you care to provide to the_squeezle@yahoo.com. I am willing to pre-pay an hour's rate to cover a phone/WebEx meeting to let you see what's what...and challenge any of your sharpshooters out there to show me what a fool I am- if you fix it in the first hour, I'll still pay you for a second. Otherwise, at that point we can figure out an estimate and quote.

Thanks,
Erich
