NY media company looking for full time experienced Drupal developer
Hello everybody, I'm working with a forward thinking media company located in New York and they are looking for a full time Drupal developer (40+ hours a week) to work on their content and community focused website.
The ideal candidate should have experience working with high traffic and mission critical sites and should know about:
- Drupal module and theme development. The developer should follow Drupal and PHP best practices and code conventions for writing optimal and fast code. Having contributed to the Drupal community is a plus.
- Being familiar with modules such as Views, CCK, OG, Taxonomy and Nodequeue.
- Working with Subversion and having experience with online coding and team collaboration. Knowing about Bazaar or Git is a plus.
- Upgrading of complex sites from Drupal 5 to 6.
- Coding semantic and well formed HTML and CSS. This includes dealing with nasty IE issues.
- Writing good jQuery and Javascript for Drupal.
- Ubercart ecommerce package and use of payment processors such as Paypal or Authorize.net.
- MySQL management and writing optimal SQL.
- Linux basic system administration, specially Ubuntu, including configuration of Apache, Nginx, NFS, MySQL, etc. Our ideal candidate
should be able to work via ssh on the command line, play with sed and edit with vi or similar editors.
- Having worked with Drupal on a cloud enviroment such as Amazon EC2 and services like RightScale is a plus.
- Knowing about load balancing with HAProxy is a plus.
This position is for a remote worker who should be fluent in English and have great communication skills, a great coder who talks and writes clearly.
