Description

Would upgrading from 2.8 be a smooth process?

Want to check out the new goodness you're putting into basic but wonder if I should wait to use 2.9 on a new site rather than upgrading and existing site?

Thanks again for an awesome base theme!!!

Very good question.
If you already started theming a site, don't bother upgrading. Basic should never been upgraded, only use the latest version when starting a new theme.
This is because Basic doesn't use a base theme, so upgrading it might deleting the code you added. Unlike Zen, DO NOT update Basic.

As a precaution, I usually customize the info file, and reove the line 'project' so update module doesn't check the basic page for the theme.
