Issue Summary
Hi
I tried to use the event-module and got this error:
drupal Fatal error: Unsupported operand types in /modules/system/system.module on line 627
Is it a core-bug like discussed in drupal.org/node/595724 ?
What can I do?

I have the same problem, with almost the same error message. I uninstalled the Event module and installed a new version without success. Don't do this...you will lose your event data (my dates/times are gone).
You can change Event settings (Administer) without going to the Task link. Try getting to Event through the "By Module" link. I can get to the Events overview and Timezone handling pages.
Good luck...sorry I can help you.

I don't see how this should be a bug in event module.
Your dates/times should still be in the database. Try to rebuild your menu.
