CivicSpace has just released a videocast demonstrating our new install system code. You can view it here:
Video of installer, install profiles, installation forms for modules like CiviCRM.

But the installer code isn't finished yet. CivicSpace is looking for folks that are interested in making a financial investment in getting this code fully functional, polished, tested and released into Drupal 4.8, and compatible with Drupal 4.7. If you are interested in lending a hand, please visit www.civicspacelabs.com or send David an email at David Geilhufe, managing partner CivicSpace.

This is very interesting. I bet quite a few people would agree, I will check back on this later. Perhaps some people might wish to allocate funds towards this project...

The installer is looking very simple, I like it. I think that anything that simplifies the install of Drupal will be very welcome.

Is there any collaboration here with the multi-site creation workflow in Bryght's hostmaster system?

First, thanks Sunny, for considering a contribution. I'll be in touch.

geodan, our CivicSpace On Demand offering is currently in alpha testing and uses the hostmaster platform. So yes, we are collaborating closely.
