I use ddblock for 3 kinds of bloc :
- last 10 nodes created
- last 10 nodes modified
- 10 more read nodes

To make theses blocs I use the order filter in the View UI.
When I configure de DDbloc, there is also a settings about order of nnde, which is based on the publication date. This means my "last 10 nodes modified" block do not display the last 10 nodes modified in the correct order but with an extra sorting creteria which is publication date.

I think the sorting settings in the ddblock configuration could have a "none", which take into account the view configuration
