fumble wumble drupal

gradrupal - November 1, 2009 - 20:22

I have bought a 6.x website from Ebay and managed to get a few modules going, FCK was a nightmare with its double almost triple embedding of modules, and then there was a bigger nightmare, gallery 2, which I finally got going thanks to a nice guy on the gallery forum, sorry I get mixed up with gallery and drupal forums, login names and passwords, and all that besets the feeble mind of an alcoholic from the programming days of the 60s, but for sure I have drupal going.
IT is the paths that get me, you get used to winows dos paths on your own PC and then you meet up with a host, and tehy give you dns, an I hate these abbreviations, domain name something, and you have to go to godadddy and pay for a web name and then attach it, I hate that name also, assign is better, the name to these domain name, and then you get into wamp and xampp and mamp, and apache, I mean you almost thing geronimo is coming for you after a nights unrest with all this stuff going thru your mind, and all you want to do is show a few photos on the web, or sell a watch or something simple, and then to surgically deprive you of your brain power there are the millions of people who charge to help you create a node or two.
My host wont let me run php, I mean who in their right mind would deter one of the 6 billion souls that frequent this globe of running a php script, and what the hell, we have forums and forums, all of us wanting to project our egos into the ether, courtesy of elctricity and teh binary sytem; what would happen if the lights went out, what would happen to our photos, our cds, our dvds, our codecs, our java beans?
Sorry to be like this, it is just so many mazes of nonentities that my poor old brain cant contemplate. gra.

Drupal is a love and hate thing.
