I watched your installation video repeatedly but do not get anything at all when I run dashPlayer.swf in the /player folder. Do I need to make any changes to the file paths? I saw this somewhere: "I personally talked with this user and he didn't place the skin folder next to the player. Just for future reference, everyone needs to include the skins folder with their player."
Do I need to change the file structure/location of the skins folder? If I run skin.swf in the /player folder I do see the player. I copied the skin.swf file to a variety of different locations in case the default wasn't correct. Thanks for your help.

storytellerjeff commentedHi all,
I'm having the same problem that Plato experienced. After going through the install and double-checking with the check list and the tutorials, I'm still getting a blank white page in Firefox when I try and test the Dash player path (as referred to in Travis' tutorial). However, when I click on the skin.swf, an empty version of the player loads on the page.
Can Plato/Travis/anyone else let me know what to do with the skins folder to get the player to load properly? (The skins folder is currently sitting within the Player folder as per the tutorial instructions).
Please make any suggestions noob-friendly.
Thanks!
P.S. Travis, the player looks great and the video tutorials made a very intimidating install seem very friendly to a noob like me! I look forward to getting Dash up and working! Thanks for all the hard work.

platonik commentedYou need to include the Skins folder in your Player directory to have dashPlayer.swf to show up because that folder contains the default skin. As far as that folder's position within the directory is concerned it doesn't matter, as long as it's in there and contains the default skin.
You should have a folder called "player" in the root directory and that folder should contain:
dashPlayer.swf
skins (the whole directory)
config (the whole directory)
If you want to add a new skin, you would also place that skin into the skins directory in this location.
Don't forget to change the path to the player in Admin >> Dash Player Settings
The path should be something like: http://yoursite.com/player/dashPlayer.swf
Hopefully this is helpful.

storytellerjeff commentedThanks, Platonic for the help.
But, what you've described is the default location that Travis outlines in the Tutorial - which I currently have, but the problem persists. Must be something else. I'll keep digging.

nsummy commentedI had the same problem as described. Followed the tutorial to a T, when i went to run the player as suggested got a blank screen. Here is how I resolved it:
1. Created another directory in the root called Player2
2. reuploaded all of the files from the original player directory.
3. changed the player location in the settings to reflect the change to player2
4. It works
5. ?
6. Profit!
I'm not sure why it works this way but judging by the number of people with this problem I would indeed say it is a bug.

platonik commentedHave checked the written documentation as well as the videos? Here is a link to the section on the path to the player: http://www.tmtdigital.com/node/43
Here's the link for the videos just in case you didn't have that one: http://www.tmtdigital.com/node/37
