Save contact form as node or db entry

Hi everyone,
I'm about to write a module for saving contact form before sending to email. the reason is because when there is a problem with mail server user thinks that he sent the contact but due to the issue with mail server site owner never receives anything. i causes some misunderstanding.

I tried to look for a solution in forum and module but couldn't find anything so i decided to write here and make sure that currently there is really no solution available for this issue. If you have any info regarding to this, i really appreciate it if you share it with me :)

An alternative solution, which I've used before, is to use the Webform module to create a contact form. When you use webform, you will be able to download a CSV file with all of the survey responses. You can also browse the responses online.
