New Install / Old Database

Ok long story short I'm moving from shared hosting (justhost) to my own VPS

Justhost are useless and kept suspending my account and refused to reopen it, all they offered was a full back up of my site which I have downloaded...

I now fear that I will have mega problems moving the site and my biggest fear is having to start all over again because I have noticed some files were not included in the backup (well I've noticed one file and thats htaccess)

My question is, is it possible to do a clean install of Drupal on my VPS and somehow integrate the MySQL database into it.....

Any help would be appreciated..

ps.. revisiting the old files on Justhost is not an option
