Issue Summary
http://drupal.org/aggregator/sources/490
I've not seen something so obviously an ad ("available now from our store" and our store is a link) on the planet before -- is this acceptable?

I am not sure it would.
Dave Reid is taking care of writing some guidelines for what is acceptable in Planet Drupal feed. I think that a reference to this could help.

Thanks for reporting this. I'll contact the site owners and let them know that advertisements like that are not appropriate for the planet.
#3
FYI: I was contacted as the site owner on this; this is not accurate.
I'm not the site owner. As seen in #507938: Add to Agregator feed I added the feed to the planet. The user has done some work in education, and in the past has been active in the education group.
His user ID is http://drupal.org/user/67038 --
FWIW, if someone is adding advertising to the planet, I'd recommend removing the feed, contacting the publisher, and only adding the feed after they have responded in a positive way.
Dave's email, despite going to the wrong person, was a good outreach point. I recommend connecting with the actual site owner, however, as that will be a more effective way of addressing this :)

@bonobo: My apologies. I thought you were the site owner since you had created the request, but this is why I shouldn't try to do this late at night. :/ I'll contact the correct site owner. Thanks for being understanding in my mistake. :)

Warned the correct user.

Hello, Dave -- no worries at all. Glad that the author of the feed got notified, and thank you for the time you put in (are putting in) to maintaining d.o --
#7
And there is actually another issue about this here: #502734: Please add feed to Drupal Planet

@Dave--
what was the text of the email? The latest planet post also ends in an ad for the theme store:
http://venturacottage.com/tutorials/theming/themeing-tutorial-using-colo...
Is it no ads at all or just not in teaser?

Also, imo these 'posts' are nothing more than very thinly veiled attempts at free advertising-- the posts are extremely short, contain no meat, and probably take all of 3 minutes to type up (if that).
#10
Does the feed still contain posts that seem advertising?
