Upgrading... very basic question about which Drupal foders to up date

Nigelb - November 6, 2009 - 20:51

Hi all,

This is probably a very dumb question, but I want to upgrade from 6.13 to 6.14 but I seem to have two possible sets of Drupal files to upgrade, the ones on public_html directory, and the ones in www.

Each seems to gave a duplicate set of files - and indeed I now don't know where in the past I have added modules (but they appear in both sets of folders).

I'm sure there is a simple answer...

Many thanks

Nigel

Both of them are the same

Simply update any one of them. They are actually the same location.

many thanks!

Thanks... the little things can be so puzzling!

When updates are released, do

raindrop - November 7, 2009 - 12:15

When updates are released, do the release notes say which files have been changed at all?

Not so much where in each file but the important files or is it in confidence.

Did you LOOK at the release notes?

Every freaking change is traceable at cvs.drupal.org
The project release notes describe WHAT changes were made though not exactly WHERE.
If that's what you want, I'd grab both releases side-by-side and just do a diff (or you can diff against releases directly if you have a CVS checkout)
... depends on the actual question.

.dan.

Thanks. I haven't updated yet

Thank you so much for that.

Very interesting that I can download files individually like that so I guess you don't need to install entire packages just modules, includes etc which sounds just what I need.

CVS Checkout I'll look that up.

Thanks again
