Subtheme Template Question (quick)

When overriding stuff in my template.php file, do I rename preprocess with marinelli or the name of my subtheme, if Im using alagna, for instance?

If overriding function phptemplate_preprocess_hook(), is it function marinelli_preprocess_hook(), or function subtheme_preprocess_hook()?

Please let me know.
