Using Drupal 6.13, Ajax Comments 6.x-1.8 with comment_bonus_api.
the module didn't run at all, then at the bottom-left corner there is </html showing. Removing the module also clears that error. see attached image.

I bet it's issue of your theme. I've personally installed module 2 days ago and everything was fine.
