**Help required** new installed site - all links are broken!!

i am not a prog... - November 8, 2009 - 20:53

I have just installed drupal and uploaded .sql file to database.

It looks just like it did on when on my localhost - except all the links are broken and i can't log in with admin/username and password I used on local host.

Does this sound familiar? Can anyone point me in the right direction. I appreciate your time in advance.

Kind regards,

Forum Posting Tips a good read to better understand how to get solid answers from support forums.

this was a site moved from localhost to a live server?

if so did you clear the cache tables in the database before the export or after the import?

are you sure that the .htaccess file is uploaded?

were clean urls enabled before the move?
does the new server support mod_rewrite?

Thank you for your reply

Hi, thank you for your recent help.

The site was moved from localhost to live server
I haven't cleared cache tables - need to find out how.
the access file is uploaded - is this the same as the htaccess?
I followed an online lesson at lynda to clean urls
I've asked my host if the server supports mod_rewrite

Thanks again,
