intstall warning and fatal error

I downloaded openpublish-1.5.1-309.tar.gz from opensourceminds.com
I get the following error code when i choose to install open publish. it happens right after i enter the database after going to install.php. Can anyone help me. I've tried to install this numerous times with no luck..

Did you unpack this one top of another Drupal installation? THe root path of your folder looks like a standard drupal install not the package that is downloadable from http://www.openpublishapp.com
Try downloading again and unpacking in a separate location and using a new database.

I did that and this is what happens:
after entering in mysql database info i get stuck at the install site part. with the right hand side of the page white with a HOME title and nothing else.. nothing to click, no links nothing... just the page with nowhere to go... whats happening ?? Please advise....

What is in your apache error log?
