It appears this module is abandoned. Initiating the first step of Drupal's abandoned projects process.
If it is in fact not abandoned, please reply.

The note on the frontpage indicates that it's been deprecated in favor of the WYSIWYG module.

Transferring to Drupal Webmasters for assignment to abandoned projects. None of the module's committers (http://drupal.org/node/18803/committers) responded to this question.

The project maintainers have put up a sufficient notice on their project page so I'm not sure why we need to follow the procedure here.

I agree with Dave; the note that has been added from the maintainer is sufficient, and clearly states that the project is deprecated in favor of another project.
