Panes with views using Node Style render panel title useless

Ok, searched and searched, read known issues, and perhaps it does have something to do with the first one about node panes having two titles. But I'm not sure, so i'll ask. Here's whats going on.
Create a panel with a path of taxonomy/term/%term and set title to "manually set" - Works fine. Manually set text or a title using the term names from % variables from the context works fine, page title set as expected. IE: Brand Name
Add a view to the panel that uses the "Node" row style to display a teaser version of the node.
Page title now says "Taxonomy Term"
Use fields to display the view, page title acts as expected. IE: Brand Name
Not sure what's going on, but having to write all the views so that they display the fields instead of the quick and simple use of the teaser.
Any ideas on why this is or what is happening is greatly appreciated. Driving me insane. Tried setting every thing i can think of that would affect the title and nothing changes it. As long as there is a view using the "node" row style, it over rides the panel / page title to "Taxonomy Term".
I'd expect the panel title setting to over ride the panes? Why would a pane affect the page title?

Ok, I tried your handler and your view, and I do not get the title changing to 'Taxonomy Term' as you do.
It is possible that something is changing the title somewhere in the nodeapi process. It is also possible that you have the title pane setting different from what I imported; it's known that in Panels 3.2 exporting that setting does not currently work correctly. I don't think so, however, it looks like you've got that set to Manually Set.
I don't have any good answers for you, but I can't replicate the problem with just this.
