ddblock with Acquia Propsper and Fusion Theme

Hi everybody,
I'm trying to use ddblock on a website with Acquia Prosper theme without any success. It seems that it doesn't read the preprocess functions. I put them in acquia template.php and nothing happened, than in fusion template.php and same result, last try putting it in both, nothing. I've uncommented the lines to see the theme variables but they don't give any result. The page shows the news items one above the others, unformatted.
I'm a newbie so is there anyone who can help me in this? I really need help with the installation process.
