search results not rendering correctly

I'm using the Giordani version of Marinelli for a website. Everything looks great in Firefox and Chrome, and most things look good in IE.
The issue is the search results page--they're totally messed up in IE. I've attached screenshots of a search done in IE6 and IE8.
I'm having a tough time figuring this out. Anyone have ideas on how I can fix this?

Figured it out. Couple of comments in search-result.tpl.php ended with --!> instead of !--> or just --> and was causing problems in IE.
