Render custom forms in a table...

I have done enough searching and reading in the website but I was not able to find out a good way to render my custom forms (using forms API) in a themable tabular format. I am working on a customer requirement and I am pretty much stuck @ this step. Could any of you point me to some kind of documentation or example implementation for this. I am using Drupal 6.14.
