tmp directory

Hi foodbo, how you doing... Just cruising the forums before shutting down to get some sleep..

The tmp directory is a holding location till the function you are using is ready to 'copy' them into the module function that is calling them into the system. (or that is the way I think it works)

Now here, I am not sure.. (could not be copied), might be a directory or folder permissions issue or the files are not allowed by the system due to file type or size..

You can delete them, but they are there because they most probably were 'on their way' into the file system by some function. Possibly some content was created and those files were uploaded or were to be uploaded to that content.

maybe check administer > site configuration > file system
File system path:
Download method:

and check the permissions page to see if the user has permissions to create that type of content that wants those files..

thx dbeall, doing ok, just

thx dbeall, doing ok, just stress out of lots of little issues here.......hope u r doing well.

Well, there is no permission issue in that directory, and its just a local server for testing and without any other user download / create anything....

the messages still coming up from time to time with different file name..... ;-(

double check folder

I don't have much time with xamp because it's difficult to use. I have been using wamp because it's much easier.

I have searched around on this and other people were having same issue..
http://drupal.org/node/100737

check the settings in the administer > Site configuration > File system

Temporary directory:
C:\xamp\tmp ---(this is default on my xamp setup)
C:\xampp\htdocs\xampp\drupal6\tmp ---(maybe try setting it this way)

Download method:
Public - files are available using HTTP directly.

and clear the cache on the administer > Site configuration > performance page
