Hello, I've set up a view which contains a filter by node post date (descending). It was working properly but today it is not. Changes I made today are adding post date to field and changing the date format to d.m.Y.

The view now displays the nodes in an order I can't identify. It seems quite random. As far as I can tell, the post date filter is activated on the default, block, and page views.

Anybody know what's going on here?

As per the issue submission guidelines (Does anybody read them?) you should post enough information to duplicate this issue. Pasting the view would be nice.

I use the following view which displays the nodes in an order other than descending according to creation date. Maybe I misunderstand this: Is the creation date different than the post date? Terribly sorry for getting the request wrong the first time. I hope this is better and I will try harder.

There is a checkbox in the table style settings: "Override normal sorting if table sorting is used." This is defaulting to sort by title, which is then overriding the normal sorting.
